It IS urban, but what gives it away? The bg is compressed dirt and the furnature ... universal? I never know.

Thanks Carlos! It's actually another view (from the 3rf floor) of the other picture you just commented on. I love it when the sun is at that precarious angle.

Thanks Marco - this was a very fun session, especially considering she got married a month later [i]to somebody else![/i (I shot the wedding too. Oy, life is too short to be so complex.)

Thanks Pishal! Yes, I would be lost without my red filter. It's a crutch, I know, I know!

The half-hidden staircase, and that ... thing in the foreground add a bit of enigma to this one Carlos. I like it!

Nice focus on the horn, and the gradation of the gray tones is fantastic. It looks like I can reach in and touch it!

It [u]is[/u nice! The lego truck adds a nostalgic factor, and I find myself missing my own son (who is also a big fan of lego kits) when I look at this picture. Of course, tonight when I hear his middle-school talk, I'll be over it. ;)

Thanks Carlos - I'll need to dig through my DVDs of scans to be sure but I [i]think[/i this is a scan from a negative. I did make a wet print of this though, so I'm not sure. But I DO try to always get the 'bathed with light' thing going with my outdoor photography, especially when the subject has a lot of white in it. I use a lot of tricks for that - for example, I shot this through glass, so there is an overall flare. That brings up the shadows, so I can print down the highlights. I just wish we had HIE back, so it wouldn't take all the tricks! :o

Thanks Ken, thankis Geof! I was REALLY in love with HIE film, and now ... it's gone. :( Nothing works quite like it, but I AM experimenting with Delta 3200 and Efke Aura - each of those has an aspect that I liked in HIE, but not together.

Love it Pish! How did you get the boys on the left oof while the rider on the right looks in focus? Does the 23 have a swing movement?

That Contax lens does a GREAT job of bokeing out the white background - makes for excellent contrast driven composition! Excellent!

I love the way you used the guy's dark coloration in shadow here. You don't see that too often, and you have made him very expressive with a minimum of detail. The background suits the photo, and I want to look through the window like the little guy behind the main subject is suggesting.

Hey! Thanks Carlos! I've trimmed some of my less popular images from here, but I'm glad I kept this one!

This cries out for the perfect caption Geof.
