Thanks Jerry. Actually the lighting is very simple, nothing special. Just one outdoor strobe fired from the right. That's all I used.

I agree that the lighting is somewhat harsh, but the colors contrasted nicely with the background. A stunning shot. Did you do any white balance correction to give that background that blue color?

Hello alphazeiss, I used a DIY snoot (consisting of a tennis ball empty tube and lots of black drinking straws) as a light modifier to get that "spotlight" look to the shot.
