Leave them in their environment, gives the image relevance if you ask me. Lovely tones no matter how it's cropped.

I looked at the thumbnail and opened up.
Luckily I was able to enlarge again and the screen was filled by the two figures - a lot of the original being hidden.
At this stage I thought it was a super photo concentrating more on the figures - have you tried an all round crop?
