you're right. this is what fascinates me with industrial building: they are built by humans but look like dominating them and having their own autonomy. Scary!
...one more thing about the composition... I like the doors by the large vertical cylinders. They contribute to the alienation by reminding us of people entering, their slight stature dwarfed by the factory....
thanks for this. i like your idea of contradiction. in fact in my series of industrial pics i was hesitating and some of them i also prefer the faded colors of dramatic color contrast..
Jacques, I feel that way about your wintry landscapes but for some reason prefer this industrial image in color. The soft, subtle color is a contradiction. Plus it does have a historical timeless quality to it. Maybe I'm just mourning the death of Kodachrome yesterday....
