the object in the foreground is a fence restricting access to a a few meter high wall next to an old (now dry) moat - however i must admit to noticing this repetition only during post processing... it is tough to keep an eye for everything in the field...

The design features appeal to me - a series of steps created by the fence (?) in the foreground, repeated in the building. Very nicely composed, Piotr.
