Middlegate Station

Notes

This was one of the original stations on the Pony Express Trail, stretching 1500 miles from Missouri to California. Between April 1860 and October 1861, horseback riders rode at a gallop for about 75 miles each day, changing horses every 8-10 miles. The station now serves as a welcome food stop on a very long, unpopulated road through Nevada.
