Looks like there is a general consensus that boats & ships should be seen with bridges. Will do so in the future as this river has some very interesting sailing vessels, from ski-dos (they are insane) to huge barges.

This is one of my favorite places to go to when I'm "down." Water seems to bring me solace.
Love the boats, barges, tugboats, sailboats, and an occasional cruise ship as well as the twice-daily Coast Guard boats positioned with machine guns at the ready. After 9/11 we learned to adjust to new safety precautions. Still sends chills down my spine when I see them at 1800 hours with rifles pointed at the bridge overhead, fingers on the trigger.

When it gets warmer will take more photos of the ships/boats that pass by. The variety is amazing.
