I read your comments at l-camera-forum. It seems that the NEX user interface is way ahead of the M software. I read some other posts and see that the live view feature on the M does not work like the NEX. For my use it is vital to be able to see the image adjustments in real time - not only exposure but color temperature, contrast and saturation changes.
AS far as the finder is concerned" If you can live with 16 MP, I think the 5-R will fit the fauer finder - it has that tripod bump on the bottom. Of course in the studio you can probably strap the "hoodman" loupe to the display and get the same benefit. Or buy the Fauer which is a hoodman with lugs on it, and get a machine shop to make a mount for the NEX-7.
That's what I will have to do when the NEX FF becomes possible.
Glen,
I got the Metabones adapters just a few days ago and did do not many shots with them.
Instead of the new M I will now use them on the NEX7 till a FF NEX will be available (next year?).
When I saw your Fauer Finder I asked them, if they will offer a finder for the NEX7 but never got an answer! :(
Now I see how you were able to make those nice pictures. What a collection of lenses.
I ordered a black Nex-5 yesterday from B&H. ANd I received another Fauer Finder. Shooting with that finder make all the difference in the world, so I though I should have a backup system. I am waiting for a full frame interchangeable lens camera from Sony.
Thanks for posting pictures of a few of your lenses. What about R lenses on the NEX -5? Any experience with them?
I'm pretty sure that SONY is ahead in the sensor design, and have been for ten years, so I am going to bet on their cameras.
one of my cheapest lenses, but impressive performance!
I planned it for the new M and now will use it on the NEX7, as I returned the M after two days :(

Here are my arguments against the new M:
