When I first saw the image I just knew it was shot on film, if that was what you were going for that worked. But I agree it would look better with more contrast.

Brian, I Agree with Huss, Nice portrait but the effect flattens the image.
Maybe that is your preference.

It would be nice to see the original version w/o the film effect applied. I don't think the film effect does the shot justice as it lowers the contrast and makes it look hazy. It is as if the capture was underexposed and recovered in pp.
