Desert Tower – Built 1922-28 along highway 80 (San Diego County) overlooking the Imperial Valley. The stone figure is one of many carvings created in the 30’s. A popular attraction until the opening of Interstate 8 in the 1960’s. More on the story: http://www.imperialcounty.com/phototur/photo16.htm
