Ornate Screen in front of the Choir, Bristol Cathedral

Notes

Shot inside Bristol Cathedral, Avon & Somerset, England.

Those of you that are interested in the technical aspects of Photography, this image is ~ a 50% crop of the full sized frame. It demonstrates one of the great features of the Canon EOS 5D Mk.II, cropability. You can crop for England if necessary, and for my type of photography, the reason to own the Canon EOS 5D Mk.II (or the Canon EOS 1Ds Mk.III, Nikon D3X or the Sony Alpha A900). I would not have been able to achieve this with the old 5D.

Thanks Philippe. This is my personal favorite in the set. I would love to try the Pentax Medium Format body/lens combination with the higher pixel count and squarer crop. Dream on I guess, but it probably would be the ultimate in terms of IQ for this type of photography. Steve

Awesome picture, Stephen! Framing, depth, colours what is not to love? Not only the right eye to "see " it, but also flawless technical execution!

Steve, This is a superb shot. Amazing detail, beautiful catch of light illuminating sculptures above the arches, and the way how space beyond the screen into the nave.
