Steve, we were there at the end of June and the first week of July and the snow was still very tall, it was definitely jacket weather at Logan Pass. Thanks for the comment. Debbie
Beautiful. I have a picture that my daughter sent me of her standing in the road in Logans Pass and the snow must be 10 feet above her head and that was in June. Steve
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I try to shoot in the f/8-14 range unless it's cloudy, I agree that the DoF is much nicer in that range. The moon only peeked out from behind the clouds for a few minutes, unfortunately there wasn't a lot of light and I didn't want to raise the ISO since my a700 tends to get noisy in higher ranges. I'd like the chance to take that photo over again (that would mean I'd be on vacation again).
Interesting composition, nice details and colours of mountain, but I would try different exposure settings, maybe the result could be diffrent. My CZ 16-80 works amazing between f/8-16, when diffraction still isn't a problem. At upper boundary DoF and corner performance are better than bellow f/5.6.
