Queensborough Bridge aka 59th Street Bridge -- the working man's bridge as it was the only one that was free between Queens and Manhattan.
Simon & Garfunkel -- both lived a few blocks away -- Paul Simon attended my college -- They have always been true to their art, to their audiences, to charity, to themselves. They never "sold out". Best friends since they were young; humble, respectful and gracious. No torrid stories / headlines, etc.
YouTube has the Concert in Central Park where half a million, perhaps more, came in 1981. They sang every famous song. It is a joy to watch......here is the link
"I got no deeds to do,no promises to keep"....Simon and Garfunkel will always be my best quitar duo.I'll never forget the time I've heard "The sound of silence" for the first time in my life, not knowing who is singing and playing but being absolutly enchanted.More a piece of poetry than a song.
My other favourites: "Scarborough fair","Kathy's song" "I am a rock,I'm an island""The boxer".In fact there are only a few songs that I don't like too much.
