Hi,
yes the lens is a ZF not ZM somehow i pushed the wrong lens field and f stop was f/8 according to the Metadata not f/2.8.. sorry to cause confusion i will be more careful next time.. thank you for your input....i tend to shoot more with a limited DOF then the lens set to infinity i will post other examples images where the DOF was too shallow to my liking. i like the to see from where the subject come from or the subjects surroundings, to me it finishes the story of the image.....but yet, bring your attention to the subject.
Wolf, 1) if You look at Distagon 2.8/15mm datasheet You would find at last page (Deep of Field), that at f/8 only if You set focus at infinity, You will get DoF from 1.48m to infinity. If You set focus at 40cm, You will get DoF only from 31cm to 55 cm.
2) Distagon 2.8/21 is less wide angle lens than 2.8/15, so if we suppose similarity in design and design's scalability, the DoF of 2.8/21 should be more shallow than DoF of 2.8/15 at the same aperture and focus' setting.
3) I wonder how George mounted rangefinder lens at big DSLR like D800. So he probably misselected Biogon ZM instead of Distagon ZF/ZF-II.
Very nice sunset George, I wish to see this scene with wider DoF but still colours are very interesting.
