The Lantern Window, The New Room, Bristol, England
Notes
The oldest Methodist building in the world - the New Room, also known as "John Wesley's Chapel". The New Room was built in 1739 and enlarged in 1748. <br />
This window looks down into the Chapel: It is thought that John Wesley sometimes stood here to observe the preachers below. The 8 sided window, known as a "Lantern" allows a large amount of light into the room and into the Chapel below. The glass is authentic and is believed to be 260 years old.
Thanks for your kind words Philippe they are greatly appreciated. The architecture inside this 18th century chapel is "minimalist" in the extreme. There was not even a crucifix to be seen nor any stained glass or paintings. Steve
Steve, you know I am a card-carrying member of your fan-club. But this is, if not your finest shot IMHO, one of the very finest. I am green with envy and you must be so chuffed! And deservedly so! I petition Master Jorge for instant admission to the Hall of Fame!
