I will try out how it works if I darken the water a bit more.

Beautiful balance to this composition, I really like the antisymmetry across the bottom-left/top-right diagonal. My only nitpick would be that the water is either a bit too bright or too defined (i.e. sharp) which results in it distracting my eye as I move through the image, which detracts from the houses.
