This is Banksey's home turf and there is lots of other Street Art to view. If you have never heard of Banksey, then have a look. Brilliant! http://www.google.co.uk/images?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&channel=s&hl=en&q=banksey&cr=countryUK|countryGB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=UzUFTOj_L8uP4gbTu_nLDg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CEgQsAQwAw

I tried, Stephen and you are totally right. Thanks for the suggestion. I need to think of B&W more often, and have posted another one just for you...:-)

As always Philber - showing how good that 50mm can be - in the right hands.

The wall above the archway was originally ornately painted but was white washed over during the Puritan Reformation. Anything that looked vaguely ornate was covered up or smashed. They were considered signs of the Catholic Faith. Catholics had to worship in secret. The penanty for being caught could be your life. This end wall was fairly recently cleaned up to show what is left of the original decoration. Stephen

The penalty for using an Ultra Wideangle Lens is that you do have to apply correction to the Geometry if you want "true" horizontals and verticals. One of the reasons that I settled on DxO Optics Pro 6 ELITE software was the ease of making these corrections. In addition, the RAW conversions are superior to ACR and Canon's bundled software. You should try it. Oh, thanks to merrill and yourself for the feedback. This is what keeps one going in photography. Stephen

Thanks Philber. It has made a stunning large B&W print. I am struggling a bit to find the best technique for downsizing my images for this site. The end results sometimes look a bit blurry and I don't post them. The prints however are tack sharp and punchy. You must have the same issues. Images from Canon EOS 5D Mk.II can stand a lot of extra sharpening in my experience, to look at their best. The combination of this camera body with this Zeiss lens is highly recommended. Stephen

Hi All, Not really a photographer anymore as I am too busy making other photographer's images into exhibitions. Anyway to get the ball rolling here are three shots from a summer's evening in 1985; reflections of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the windows of the Opera House. Goodness knows why I decided to drag a heavy Hasselblad 500 CM and a monster 40mm Distagon along - at least I kept the weight of film down to a single roll! Cheers, David Myers

Distagon 21 on an unlikely subject....

Stephen, to think that one reads so often that the Distagon 21 cannot do architecture because of horrible mustache distortion.... Do you correct your shots for this, or is it SOOC?

Brilliant composition! The more I look at it, the more I like it. It must be gorgeous in full resolution.

I like it! It gives the picture a 60s look from the British TV series that I loved. Thanks!

Thanks JT! In my opinion, Venice brings out exactly what the Planar 50 f:1.4 does best: great detail, colours, 3D, but in a manner where elegance and style come before visible sharpness. Besides, you should see the detail in full resolution!

hey there. I think the color is also pretty special... it looks like a matt black stealth version. Bye.
