During Warsaw Street Workshop by Association of Polish Art Photographers
The Wola massacre ("Wola slaughter") was the systematic killing of around 40,000-50,000 people by Nazi troops during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. Between 5–12 August 1944, tens of thousands of Polish civilians along with captured resistance fighters were indiscriminately shot or killed in organized mass executions throughout the Wola district of the Polish capital Warsaw. The action was designed to crush the Poles' will to fight and put the uprising to an end without having to commit to heavy city fightin
I was passing by through center of Warsaw, few minutes after start of Euro 2012's first match. There is written "Host City Warsaw".
(lens by Rollei)
(handheld)
I like the feeling of a space in that place :)
(handheld, little HDR for preserve details in highlight areas)
I took this photo to portrait narrow example of socrealism architecture with unmatched surroundings.
(reuploaded with cornerfix correction with profile for NEX-7 and Voigtlander Heliar 4.5/15mm at f/22)
It is taken from a Danzig Bridge. It was a 2nd day of passing flood-wave through a Warsaw, so some trees are flooded.
This building was told to be going to be demolished some time ago. It is an shot of left bank of building.
I love the colours and momentum at 1/13. One again I fall with this lens at f/4. It give nice DoF with quite sharp corners :)
In '90-ties it was modern, now it is historical.
(reuploaded with cornerfix correction with profile for NEX-7 and Voigtlander Heliar 4.5/15mm at f/22)
I love performance of this lens with aperture f/9.5. I fought against dark's noise by downscalling, but there are still fine details :)
(lens by Rollei)
(it is a classical mix of lights, AWB always fails here. I used manual defined WB. I like the performance of Pancolar 1.4/55mm at f/2)
(lens by Rollei)
Carl Zeiss Distagon 2.8/35 QBM (uncoated without HFT)
(it's my favorite lens)
It is handheld.
I believe that lanterns aren't placed vertically at all :)
(I value this bokeh the most, it's made by the favorite lens of mine)
(lens by Rollei)
After Warsaw Street Workshop by Association of Polish Art Photographers, Castle Square.
Which one do You like more, color or monochrome?
This way leads to Northern part of Constitution Square. Following this way You are moving from west to east, those drivers going opposite way :)
(handheld, little stepped down to rise details )
I am encharmed with this lens. As You mind to see, it is very sharp wide open. It has amazing color rendering and legendary bokeh..I hope I a few more photos with this lens.
(Why Biotar 2/58 is discontinued but eg.Sonnar 1.5/50 is still manufactured? I know that there is close construction like ZM Planar 2/50, but it is shorter than short-tele like 58-60mm (87-90 eqv.) and more symmetrically designed..moreover, it still doesn't have that kind of bokeh). IMHO Biotar 2/58 is best Carl Zeiss Fifthy for Nex-7
(It is handheld, merged with two photos)
There was great accident on main street of my district, with many cars and few pedestrians. Police halt all car's traffic, people traveled only by foot, I have to walk home too after work. Police opened traffic after four hours.
(It is handheld. I was unable to shot it with 24mm, cause very aggressive street light here, which was engaging my frame every-time I tried to shot it. For better performance at corners I need tripod and ISO100, it is not due to lens resolution, it is due to sensor low dynamic range at ISO800)
(Handheld)
It is view to the North side of Constitution Square
It was too cold for me, nine degree of Celcius bellow center of the scale, with high moisture and wind. Even in photographical gloves, my hands were shaking so I had to push up shutter speed to 1/500.
It is a frontier of Warsaw, district of Włochy. There were a small amount of light and quite strong wind, so everything is floating (include rear lens group).
(It shows handheld reproduction limit of Carl Zeiss Distagon 4/18 C/Y at f/4 and Sony A7)
Roman Catholic Church of St. Alexander, main entrances for upper and lower church interiors. Both has independent Chancels, which are used separately at the same time.
Working with TTL lightmeter is problematic with such a scene (and NEX-7), so I used manual mode for shotting here. I believe it delivered much better outcome than semiautomatic modes of shotting (like A/S) and full automatic (P mode).
(handheld)
Carl Zeiss Jena Cardinar 2.8/85mm (from PENTINA)<br />
PS. I love this lens.
(handheld)
It has been a time of little renovation, It was also about a time of quick, massive rainfall.
(it was handheld with lanthanum first version of lens. Please feel free to enlarge it, there are multiple details there and a rather small amount of noise)
(conjunction of three images with PS photomerge)
I value the render (the sharpness and the bokeh) of this lens very high. It handles flare very well for single-layer coated glass. This picture is merged with 2x2 matrix of elementary shots.
Carl Zeiss 2.8/35mm QBM (uncoated without HFT)
(it's my favorite lens)
(at Savior Square, after midnight)
It is one of my favorites Sonnar type lenses, aside Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 2.8/200mm MC.
During Warsaw Street Workshop by Association of Polish Art Photographers
Near Warsaw "Włochy" Station at Night
Happy Xmas and New Year of 2013
(I hope it is coming against Mayas' prophet :)))
Is it successfully perspective-corrected ?
It is also a frontier of Warsaw and my home-district (Bemowo).
It was made handheld with VF-72CPAM (T*) Filter
(Handheld, I could keep it better :) )
I am impressed with resolution..and other properties of this lens too :)
I saw works of group f/64. This aperture is unavailable at most 35mm lenses but f/11 is near diffraction limit for most small format cameras.
(reuploaded with cornerfix correction with profile for NEX-7 and Voigtlander Heliar 4.5/15mm at f/22)
Comparing this photo at f/22 with other taken with the same frame but lower aperture settings like f/4, f/5.6, f/11 - I am starting to believe that diffraction isn't always a main problem. This with f/22 is the best. I hope to compare the yield of Sonnar 2.8/200 MC with Sonnar 4/180 CF at the same frame.
This building was told to be going to be demolished some time ago. It is an shot of frontal-left side of building. It was told to be one of most interesting building, which has made in time of People's Republic of Poland.
It is a place where I change vehicle sometimes in a way to my work...
This building was told to be going to be demolished some time ago. It is most of frontal view.
It is little tone mapped with photoshop's layers :)
Which one do You like more, color or monochrome?
This building was told to be going to be demolished some time ago. It is frontal-right side of building. There are still argues about architectonic style of this building but none of Polish architects tells it is an brilliant or pure example of any stylish manner.
