It was actually a panoramic with several shots from the 21mm stitched together giving it that look. I did lens correction inside ACR before doing the pano stitch in Photoshop but nothing other than that. I don't usually shoot stitched shots with the 21mm but I may do more of it in the future. It turned out ok I think. Glad you like it aquilan!

Hehe no. Just a very nice gentleman dressed in period attire for Territory Days in Old Colorado City, CO. I thought he had the best look of all who participated and I asked if he wouldn't mind me taking his picture. He was more than happy to let me do so. If I were casting a western he would be on my short list of extras.

Thank you aquilan, that's what caught my eye too. The flower stands out as if under a spot light against a shadowy background.

Thank you, it was post processed. I love the D800 though, the dynamic range is just fantastic. It gives you a lot of latitude in post.

Thank you sir. Bahrain has an interesting atmospheric mix of high humidity, dust, sand and of course urban pollution. I saw very little blue sky the whole time I was there which made it feel somewhat otherworldly. I wish I had the opportunity to shoot more photos while I was there. Just the opposite from the crystal clear skies here in Colorado.
